I didn’t make it to Harvard myself, but I can SO relate to this lifestyle at my school (Georgetown). Having left a year ago, I look back at the pressure-cooker environment with concern. Everyone is hustling towards the top grades, the best internships, the most glowing extracurriculars — faking perfection and emotional stability along the way. It’s simply not a healthy way to live our lives. Many of us go on to take jobs we hate, work more than we can handle, and suffer sharp mental breakdowns. I am already seeing it with my peers.
