I agree that elections are about ideas. As I say, the Democrats have an agenda they want to sell (universal childcare, relieving student debt, etc). GOP is running opposed to the crime and immigration policies under this president.

It should be noted that the culture war is increasingly dominating American politics. Issues like Dr Seuss, transgender women in sports, etc. really have nothing to do with government policy, but they do affect some people’s political affiliation.

I read your article and thought it was an interesting dissection of Trumpism. I don’t necessarily agree on every issue, but I appreciate how you explain the reality of immigration in America.
