I agree — strong economic policy like universal childcare and UBI would solidify Biden’s popularity. The GOP can’t win on a platform of tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, and gutting the social safety net. Most Republicans know this, so they try to shift the conversation to cultural noise about Dr Seuss and critical race theory.

Biden needs to put the political debate on his turf. He would be representing the people’s will, and he can win again.
